I was the design lead for the launch of an entirely new brand & product offering - Alto mail. In today's world, email is used for far more than just communication. Major use cases include sharing photos, organizing trips, planning events, and much more. Some users care about inbox 0, others ‘mark as unread’ to keep a running to-do list. Alto mail was created to help all different types of users organize and prioritize based on their own personal needs and goals.
Not every message is of the same importance and Alto cards help surface up those important details while breaking up the monotony of a message list.
We worked agile with rigorous 2-week sprint cycles, validating assumptions with users along the way, in order to learn and move forward as quick as possible. Whiteboard sessions, user testing, rapid prototyping and more - were all done with relentless focus on what matters most to customers.
I created numerous prototypes and motion tests. Not only were these critical for user-testing and receiving feedback, they also provided important context when presenting designs to internal stakeholders and to tell our product narrative.
I storyboarded, designed and animated a promotional video that showcases Alto’s features and benefits in a fun, quick way. This was used for marketing materials, the app store and in the press, to help tell the Alto story and its value propositions.
Early feedback from the Google Play store after our launch.
